Fauna
The fauna of Hökaland is very similar to that of medieval Europe. There are local differences such as breeds of animals and the odd truly exotic specimen, but most of the animals found in Hökaland could have also been found some hundred years ago in our own world.
Blacksnouted Goat
A particular breed of goat from the Northrealms that can survive on very sparse amounts of food for prolonged time periods and survives most climates. It is a kind breed and some people even have them as pets as they can be quite protective of their "herd". If they are fed a wealthy diet of Purple Clovers (preferably fresh, but dried also works if served in greater quantities) they produce goat milk with a slight reddish tint that is very popular among the higher nobility. Even without the Purple Clovers, the goats enjoy particular status amongst tame animals and the meat of calves is unreal, apparently, and they produce a particularly qualitative goat's milk that is used in prize-winning cheeses in the Midrealms.
Giant Lizards
Essentially "raptors", there are warm-blooded lizards roaming some of the forests in the Realms, sharing the apex predator position with dire wolves and similar monstrous beasts. It is rumoured these beasts are domesticated by some crazy Vasj foresters. It is also believed these are some distant cousins to dragons.
