Welcome to the Hökaland Wiki. Please see the introduction for more information on the world. It's currently just populated by Leord (Gunnar Petzäll), the crazy sod who created the setting, but may or may not have additional authors in the future.
This wiki covers everything about Hökaland; the world itself, history, geology, religions and important characters. It also covers the Hökaland "meta game" (that is still not permanently mothballed) as well as Hökaland the online web strategy game. Currently the wiki has 419 pages of which includes 167 articles. The Featured category lists articles that are closer to being "finished" and slightly easier to read as many other articles can be little more than lists of notes.
A large focus on this wiki is unsurprisingly on Dungeons & Dragons as wells as Pathfinder rules, since the setting was originally conceived as a campaign setting and then just took off on its own. This includes attempts at making DnD/PF more adapted to the slightly darker and low-magic world of Hökaland using house rules.
Please note that this wiki is NOT in the public domain, and neither is any content created; see copyrights. To contact the author, see the about page. Contributions are greatfully accepted (well, if it fits) and credit is gladly attributed, but rights are reserved.
Below are links for each section relating to the setting.
NOTE: If you want to help editing, an account needs to be made for you as the wiki is locked down to avoid spammers.
Like the more famous Wikipedia, I am striving to present articles at a high quality; many are just collections of notes. This section will list articles that I feel are good enough to be "officially done", with continous development. Mind you that this is not an automatic list, so a full list of articles (currently just a few) can be found in the Featured category.
- Gentry - Fairly detailed article explaining the type of feudal system that is dominant in the "main section" of the world.
- Religion - Article detailing religions, religiosity and related terms in the world.
Division of information
The wiki is divided in to several sections, including different types of information. General information about the world of Hökaland will be separated from any type of rules relating to any game I place there, such as the roleplaying (currently using DnD 3.5 and Pathfinder), the possible future game of houses (also referred to as the "meta-game") and my dream of finishing the web-based game.
This section lists information on the world of Hökaland:
Note about wiki information
When reading articles in the wiki, please keep in mind that it is unlikely that any characters in the world (or one you play) will know these things. The wiki is written very objectively: This is how the world IS, not how people conceive it. However, it often indicates what an average citizen of the world would know.

These are the latest news items. The rest are archived on the News page.
I know I have written a news item a week or two ago but I can't find it. I will look around further but there has been decent progress since February. Especially of note are non-content news of the first session with Hökaland England campaign, having a test session with Heather and Jonathan that now has grown into them getting their own characters and joining (the very large) party.
I'll get back to the news regarding content updates.
Slow First Quarter
In the past couple of months I have primarily suffered from Fallout 4, which has eaten most of my free time. It's great fun but doesn't produce much in terms of Hökaland material. Behind the scenes I have primarily been working on the Sickle, its Spire and Phrontistery, with design and architecture. I have spent a lot of time researching architecture with things such as prevalence of round towers, machiloations and other things. Some pictures of drawings are already added to the Sickle article, but most of it is solely in my notepads.
The main reason for this focus is the New campaign with the English crew where the Sickle will play a major role. A lot of the background and story hooks demand there is a solid foundation.
Other changes include:
- Travel - Added more detailed information that is easily accessible for overland movement, something that came up in the IP-Only Campaign.
- Church of Rahn - Some minor additions, mainly related to campaigns.
- Magic items - Mainlyrelated to the Sickle: Brass Coin & Thundercatcher.
- Rogue - Minor updates to the house rule version of the Unchained Rogue.
I'm almost done with Halflife now, it's just a matter of deciding how much more I want to play. A lot is just about lugging loot around. I'm hoping inspiration will strike and make me more active on the wiki, but I'm not making promises of actually produceing things. Yet. :)
