There are extremely few elves in the Midrealm, and though there are a few more in the Northrealm, most people have never seen one as they almost exclusively move in the higher echelons of society. The elves that do not either disguise themselves as humans or (in the few cases they can do magic) magically alter their appearance. Elves are a little taller than humans and with seemingly a frail shape, though actually far more flexible and dexterious than they seem. They love all things posh including fine dining and philosophical debates, and "frequently" visits human realms. Frequently means several times per century...

Cold and alluring, but sometimes just seen as cold, elves do have good hearts for the most part, but humans rarely get an insight into this unless they befriend one. They live in the northern tops of the Lofty Peaks in castles that look like icicles from afar. Made in pure marble, they are near to indisdinguishable from the rest of the surrounding nature. They enjoy 6 months a year of reliable snow and ice, and a brief but very enjoyable summer. It is known for some elves to meditate through an entire winter.

For humans, most don't like the idea of elves much. They are considered extremely snobby (wha's wrong wih' ma beer?!) and uncaring (as they have seen many important human conflicts and seemingly ignored them). Most elves you'd meet if so lucky will be elf nobles travelling for either busieness or for cultural exchange. Though it IS possible that the rowdiest person in a bar really was an elf enjoying his guilty pleasure of hanging out with the lower echelons of humanity...
This what is left of their ancient homeland. Elves have a strong affinity to the peaks and feel a little bit empty when they leave them even for shorter journeys. The peaks themselves are a natural anomaly and are made up of different types of marble. The cities built high on the mountain slopes are also made exclusively of marble and the snow and ice from the mountain tops hide the actual cities pretty well.

Northrealmers have a slightly more positive view of elves, but regardless of what any commoner or noble would want to be friends with one or have one as a contact because of the prestige. Though some would say that is not true, it's true in 99% of the cases.

Main article: Elves

The Lofty Peaks is the name of the extended area where almost all elves live. It is also known by the names the Three Peaks, the Marble Peaks or simply the Peaks. When elves talk amongst themselves they may also just call it Home.

Mountains

The "Three Peaks", "Marble Peaks" or just "The Peaks" are nicknames of the three tall mountains where most elves live in or on. Five elven cities are located in and on the peaks and a few satellite cities exist spread around the world as well. The three peaks and the five cities are:

  • Peak Silmawen (translated: Silver Maiden)
    • City X
    • City X
  • Peak Calmuina (translated: Shining Secret)
    • City Allenorai (1 of 2)
      • High Armoury - The most precious items of all elves are stored here, though some powerful items (especially of destruction) are stored in Rauco Oro instead.
      • Health Wing
        • Genesis Chambers
          • Incubation Centre
    • City X
  • Peak Rauco Oron (translated: Mount Dread)
    • City X

This what is left of their ancient homeland. Elves have a strong affinity to the peaks and feel a little bit empty when they leave them even for shorter journeys. The peaks themselves are a natural anomaly and are made up of different types of marble. The cities built high on the mountain slopes are also made exclusively of marble and the snow and ice from the mountain tops hide the actual cities pretty well.

Hidden

The area will only be found by someone who knows the way there, and many exporing humans have lost their lives looking for the mysterious peaks. Even if you know where they are, several other peaks around the larger area have high levels of marble and it's easy to get lost, especially in winter. No roads are kept clean, and elves rely almost exclusively on their internal passages and interlinking gates between their cities.

Argiculture

Food is provided partly from hunting, pure conjuration as well as some limited farming in the vallies. There are vales with artificial heating from powerful magical artefacts and some food is simply traded with the northernmost Northrealm outposts.
